Cadbury

The Cadbury brand is now split among several large food companies:

Items in all ranges have been found to contain hydrogenated vegetable oil.

Products

On 13 February 2007 (Ref: 1362015A) we received this info from Cadbury Trebor Bassett:

Trans fatty acids are produced when vegetable oils are hardened by a process called hydrogenation; hence the advice from the Food Standards Agency for consumers to avoid products with "Hydrogenated vegetable oil"declared in the list of ingredients.

Cadbury Trebor Bassett have been working to remove hydrogenated vegetable oil from all our products .We have almost completed this removal for all chocolate products with the exception of :

  • Double Decker
  • Boost
  • Time Out
  • Heroes (Time Out units)

We are currently working on our sugar brands and I can confirm that we are in the process of removing hydrogenated vegetable oil from the following product recipes and labels:

  • Mint Imperials
  • Mint Favourites
  • Murray Mints
  • Traditional Favourites
  • Bon Bons
  • Everton Mints
  • Eclairs
  • Fruity Babies

We are now in the process of updating all our product labels to reflect the removal of hydrogenated vegetable oil. However there will still be products out there in the distribution chain with the declaration of hydrogenated vegetable oil still present so please ensure that you check the ingredients listing.
